Now in its third year, the Howa/Axiom has proven to be THE choice of varmint hunters and target shooters alike, for a solid and accurate shooting platform. It’s no secret that the Axiom stock from Blackhawk/Knoxx provides unequalled shooting design and ergonomics, plus a huge reduction in felt recoil. In fact, the heavier the caliber, the more recoil reduction that can be realized.

Blackhawk uses a cam and spring absorber in the pistol grip and another heavy spring in the stock tube. Both systems are separate units from the forend, allowing the stock to absorb recoil on impact. In addition, the Blackhawk Axiom stock offers a full four inches of L.O.P. adjustment, from 11.5 to 15.5 inches overall length of pull. The Howa barrel is 100% free-floated in the stock for the ultimate in accuracy. The Howa M-1500 offers as standard many features found in much more expensive rifles. Features like a forged receiver and forged, one-piece bolt that are both ported for safety, a three position safety, a one-piece guard and magazine box with hinged floor plate. The bolt also features two locking lugs and an M-16 style extractor.

The Howa/Axiom is ideally suited for either bench rest shooting or varmint/predator hunting. Five varmint calibers are available in the 24 inch Heavy Barrel and three calibers in the 20 inch Heavy Barrel version. The Standard Barrel Axiom comes with a 22 inch barrel length and is available in 9 popular calibers.
